We are highly motivated to make a difference in the lives of others who have been deprived physically, emotionally or spiritually. We are especially drawn to help the needy orphans living in despair in Ukraine.
Should you read through the pages on our website you will learn about the ingredients that came together to lead us to focusing on providing love and aid to the orphans of Ukraine. But simply stated, the title of our website
suggests our theme.
"You should defend those who cannot help themselves. Yes speak up for the poor and needy and see that they get justice."
Proverbs 31: 8-9
We would love to have rescued a few of these children as adoptive parents, but our age makes this unrealistic. So we have come to view these children as part of God's wonderful family. The family that we are all part of. To us they are not our grandchildren but the GRAND children of God. They have been living their lives without or away from their parents. But we are driven to make sure that they will not live without love and hope.
We were lead to Ukraine in May 2007 on a Vision trip with Music Mission Kiev. During that trip we visited Krasny Hutor, an orphanage that MMK has been working with for several years. That visit with the children there touched our lives in such a way that we knew we had to return to find ways that we might do something to help the lives of these young souls.
We revisited Ukraine for five weeks in September of 2007. After investigating several options we purchased a
home in Rogoziv in the outskirts of Kiev. This has now become the new Christian family home for seven no longer
forgotten children from Krasny Hutor Orphanage. But there still remains much to do. There still remain 143 million orphans throughout the world.
To offer opportunities for the orphans and abandoned children of Ukraine to learn of the love and grace of God. By providing for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs we hope to help them grow in Christ in developing strong relationships within their future families, community, church and country.
To satisfy our mission through the establishment of or participation in foster or children's homes, domestic family adoption and on-site orphanage ministerial programs within the Ukraine. In additIon, we will focus on transitional and graduate programs that will assure that
orphans will always be loved and supported as they grow into responsible Christian adults. We will seek methods to reach out to the abused and neglected children most likely to run away from home or be abandoned. A constant Christian presence in their lives is our ultimate goal.
